why are people this way

Ok I am pretty generous and I do nice things for people on their birthdays .maybe buy a small gift or do something nice for them .I dont care if people dont want to give me anything on mine I just like doing nice things or giving gifts to make people feel special on their birthday . Though it always seems that people forget my birthday I dont want a gift or anyone to do anything for me I wouldnt mind for someone to say Happy Birthday to me thats it . people will know its my Birthday and not even say happy Birthday . Why do people do this to me ?I just want a hey happy birthday thats all .

Have you written on here before? If you have, I'm sorry that this is so painful for you. Maybe you need to develop some closer relationships with a more sensitive group of friends. There's not much you can do about family, though.

I remember giving little gifts for a few of my high school friends on their birthdays. They never remembered my birthday, though. As I got older, my family grew in terms of new nieces, nephews, and inlaws. That means I have more birthday gifts to buy for family. I have too many gifts to buy now that I only buy them for family, not friends. The friends I have now do not expect to buy anything for each other on birthdays or christmas. I can't say that your friends are fair-weathered. It could just be that they already have lots of family members to get gifts for or they do not have money or transportation to go shopping.

Also, it is hard to think of gift ideas- what the person will like. I have such a hard time with that.

it seems like you are asking why your friend is a bitch. the answer is: i dunno. because she's a bitch. seriously, you need to tell her "hey, my birthday is coming up. let's do something." if she ignores it, tell her that it hurts you and ask her why. no one else can tell you what's in her head.

as far as why other people avoid it...it's hard to say. but it's pretty obvious that this is a very sore point with you, so maybe you give off sort of a weird vibe about the whole thing and it makes people feel awkward.
