I said a nasty comment that could ruin our friendship, help please?

Yesterday on Facebook, this girl I know changed her relationship status. Everybody was all happy and everything, people were congratulating her, etc.

Her new boyfriend, however, belongs to a band. She previously had another boyfriend who also belongs to the same band.

So I made a nasty comment as a joke. And our friend joined in on the conversation too.

Me: So I guess everybody in that band gets a turn|
Her: What the f**k.|
Our Friend: ^That's wrong.|
Our Friend: That was seriously f**ked man.|
Me: It was a joke, calm down. you're going to hold a grudge against me now? i'm sorry, damn.|
Her: No, F**k you.|

By doing this, I called her a whore and brought up her ex bf, which she hates to talk about. all in public. I regret it now, and I deleted the comment afterwards, and I'm sure that if I try to apologize at the moment she would blow me off, and I don't want to be blown off in person in front of others and be humiliated.

I don't need to be told what a dou che bag I am, just tell me what else I can do to fix this because we were pretty good friends.

It was a pretty mean "joke" and I'm not surprised she didn't take it well. Can you repair your friendship? I don't know but you're going to have to give your friend distance and let her decide.

wow, yeah, that's really offensive. just write her a sincere apology and say you really were just joking and in retrospect you realize it's really not very funny at all. cuz it's not. just ask if you can make it up to her.
