dad problems

So I got a ticket last night because I am sixteen years old and I've had my license since may, meaning I haven't had it for six months yet. I was driving my cousin, and two of my friends, even though I know that with a youth operators license you can only have 1 person under the age of 25. I got pulled over for no reason, just a check, I suppose. And the officer was very rude despite my niceness and gave me a ticket with a "must appear" meaning that I have to appear in court to testify guilty or not guilty. Also, the officer made my friends get out of the car, and he drove home my friends. My father is very strict and has told me in the past not to drive many friends around. I went against him and did it anyways, thinking that since I am a safe driver, and I have had my license for five months, it would be alright. But, never the less, I still got a ticket. And now I have to face the facts and actually tell my Father. He is a very big man and honestly, he scares me when he yells. I don't know how to approach this, do you have any ideas to how I could tell my Dad about the ticket, and have him help me in court?

You got pulled over because there were too many young people in the car. A girl was killed just recently by a 16-yr old because she had two or three people in her car, she got distracted going around a curve, she hit the ditch and one of her friends went through the windshield. These laws are in place for your own protection. You don't have enough experience. If you want to be mature, own up to what you did, face the consequences of disobeying your father, and take your punishment, whatever it is. There's a saying: "A coward dies a thousand deaths." Just get it over with. It will be bad, but it won't last forever. Dreading it will just prolong your agony. Of course your dad will be upset. Any parent would be. Driving is a privilege, not a right, and YOU WERE WRONG! I'm not trying to be harsh, but the girl who was driving that car I just told you about has pretty much ruined her life. Don't let it happen to you.

You should tell your dad -- and face his consequences. You know you're in the wrong here so suck it up and deal with it.

Besides, if you don't tell him I'm sure he'll find out regardless. So then you'll really be dead meat for not being honest with him.
