this girl sort of gets on my nerves .okay I am a black girl and she is a white girl . I know us black folks talk with a different accent .I talk with a black accent lol and she talks with a white accent but when I or someone black or those adorable thugged out white boys come around she talks black .it would be okay if she always had a black girl accent but she doesn't .I have white friends who have a black accent but they always have it not only when certain people are around so they don't get on my nerves .Why does she do this I mean some white have the black accent and that's cool but why does she change her accent as she talks to different people .I find it very odd. |

whatdoyoumeancookie:oh my god. i swear i know that girl... okay there are probably a lot of people like this but i used to know a girl who was like that. her normal speaking style (which was annoying too) was like a valley girl. just overall she was really annoying. i think they're doing it to impress guys.

a lot of people just have an ear for accents and absorb whatever is around them. i do it- when i talk to my british friend, i start to pick up a brit accent, my southern family- i pick up a drawl. and yes, when i talk to my black friends, i pick up some of their speech patterns.
this girl you're talking about probably doesn't do it on purpose- it's just how her ear and speech are calibrated. don't take it personally and try not to let it irritate you.
